HBPD solicits public’s help to find sexual assault suspect

Huntington Beach police are asking for the public’s help to find a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman Sept. 10.

Police said the suspect attacked the woman at about 12 a.m. near Beach Boulevard and Edinger Avenue. She was on her way home from work, police said.

The woman was able to fight off her attacker, but the man grabbed her purse and ran, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a 5-foot-6-inch Hispanic man, 26-32 years old with a slender build.

He was wearing a white baseball cap, baggy white T-shirt and jeans. He had a mustache and possibly short black hair, police said.
