Suspect arrested in death of man found in water overflow area in Anaheim

Anaheim Police on Wednesday said a suspect is in custody in connection with the death of a man found Tuesday night with “significant injuries” to his upper body.

Kornell Randen King, 27, was booked at the Anaheim Police Department Temporary Detention Facility on suspicion of murder. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail, the Anaheim PD said in a news release.

On Tuesday night, three witnesses reported someone in need of medical attention to Anaheim Fire & Rescue officials at Anaheim Fire Station No. 2.

Anaheim police responded at around 8:25 p.m. to the death scene in the 2100 block of W. Crescent Avenue, between the southbound I-5 freeway and Crescent Avenue.

As officers were conducting a preliminary investigation, they learned the victim may have had an altercation with King about an hour before the victim’s body was discovered.

King lives in an apartment complex in the 2100 block of W. Crescent Ave.

No other details about the deadly assault were released.
