Man tries to elude LHPD officers during bike chase


A 48-year-old man who was reportedly acting suspicious in the early morning hours Sunday tried to evade La Habra police officers on a bicycle before being caught and detained in the side yard of a home on Wilshire Avenue.

Officer were called to the 2200 block of Oakland Drive about a suspicious person, possibly a tagger, in the alley.

When officers arrived, the man took off on his bicycle southbound toward Terraza Park. He sped through the park and then continued southbound across the railroad tracks and into a residential area.

It was there that officers located and arrested him in the side yard on Wilshire Avenue. Officers learned he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
