OC Lawmen battle in national championship game in Irvine but bow to New York Boldest

The OC Lawmen squared off Saturday against the New York Boldest in the National Public Safety Football League Division II championship game at Irvine High School.

Each team entered the June 20 contest with identical 3-1 records.

Alas, it was not to be for the Lawmen, a non-profit that raises money and awareness to benefit charities through tackle football and other events.

New York Boldest, whose players work for the New York City Department of Corrections, beat the OC Lawmen, 59-6.

On their Facebook page, the OC Lawmen posted: “Although the outcome was not the way we wanted it to go, we are proud of the season we had. We will continue to build and get better as a team. Today marks Day One of the 2016 season!”
