OCSD investigators seek additional victims of high school coach suspected of unlawful communication with a minor

Editor’s note: The Orange County Sheriff’s Department issued the following news release on Oct. 30, 2019:

On Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Detail arrested Cole Austin Cazel, 22, of San Juan Capistrano, for contacting minors for the purpose of soliciting child pornography.

He is currently in custody at the Orange County Jail with bail set at $100,000.

Cazel has been an offensive line coach for the San Juan Hills High School football team for approximately four years.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department received an anonymous tip about multiple students being victimized by Cazel and immediately launched an investigation.

Due to Cazel having continued access and contact with minors over the past four years, investigators believe there may be additional victims.
