OCSD investigators seeking suspect in Aliso Viejo homicide, ID female victim

UPDATE: Aliso Viejo, Ca. (Oct. 13, 2017) – The 26-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting two people and wounding two others was taken into custody Friday afternoon.

News release from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Friday, Oct. 13:

Orange County Sheriff’s investigators are searching for a 26-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting two people and wounding two others.

Deputies at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, responded to reports of shots fired at 6 Ashbury Court in The Hamptons community in Aliso Viejo.

Deputies arrived to find four victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Deputies rendered aid, but 51-year-old Lisa Cosenza, of Aliso Viejo, and an adult male succumbed to their injuries. The other victims, a 23-year-old man and a 48-year-old man, were taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

An investigation into the circumstances that led to the shooting is active and ongoing.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is looking for Luke William Ferguson, 26. He is white, 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 200 pounds. He has a tattoo on his right shin that reads, 90291. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Coroner officials are working to identify the deceased male. Once confirmed and pending next of kin notification, his identity will be released.

Investigators are urging the public to call law enforcement immediately if they see Ferguson and are reminding residents not to approach the suspect.
