OCSD seeks witnesses to two-car collision that seriously injured male pedestrian, 55

Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Major Accident Reconstruction Team (MART) are seeking witnesses to a two-car collision in Laguna Niguel on Wednesday evening that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries and a female motorist arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The crash occurred Jan. 25 around 6:20 p.m. on Niguel Road at Alicia Parkway in Laguna Niguel.

OCSD investigators believe a 2010 white BMW Mini Cooper and a 2014 white Mercedes were traveling on Niguel Road approaching Alicia Parkway when a traffic collision occurred involving both vehicles and the pedestrian.

The cause of the collision is being investigated.

The victim is identified as a male, 55. He was transported to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo with major injuries.

The driver of the white BMW Mini Cooper is identified as Jamie Mulford, 34, of Laguna Niguel. Mulford was arrested and booked into Orange County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon (vehicle) and felony driving under the influence. She is being held on $300,000 bail and her first court appearance is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 27.

The driver of the white Mercedes is identified as a female, 33.

Investigators are seeking witness information about the traffic collision including any information about the pedestrian and vehicles leading up to the incident.
