Officers from Pasadena Police Department represented the City at the 46th annual Orange County Traffic Officer’s Association (OCTOA) Motor Rodeo held at Huntington State Beach. The event, held on Wednesday, September 12, brought together elite riders from the western states giving traffic officers a platform to show off their skills as a group, individual and “Top Gun.”

“Our personnel traditionally do very well at this event, showcasing their skills in a variety of very difficult cone patterns and participating in the ‘Top Gun’ competition, which puts riders head to head against one another to test their skills,” Pasadena Police Department Lt. Mark B. Goodman said. “Pasadena Police Department was well represented. They did an excellent job and we are all very proud of them.”

Some of department’s highlights at the event include:

• Pasadena Police Officer John Watkins was the top rider in the Honda Motorcycle category.
• Officer John Watkins, Craig Blumenthal, and Robert Gaudet took 3rd Place in the Team Honda Motorcycle category.
• Officer Alonso Gonzalez made it to the quarter finals in the prestigious and difficult “Top Gun” competition.
