Police release excerpt from 911 call in freeway shooting

The suspect in a freeway shooting was charged Wednesday with several felonies, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, shooting an occupied vehicle and carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle.

Jerry Valentin, 32, of Scottsdale, Arizona is accused of shooting a man on the Eastbound 91 Freeway about 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.

On Wednesday, Fullerton Police officials released a portion of the victim’s 911 call.

“I just got shot at,” says the man, who followed the suspect and provided a description of the suspect’s vehicle.

“Are you hit?” the dispatcher asks.

“Yes, I’m hit. He took out my window and I think my arm is shot,” the man says.
