Police seek witnesses to fiery solo traffic accident in Garden Grove that kills one

A motorist died in a fiery single-car crash early Monday in Garden Grove, and the Garden Grove PD is seeking witnesses as the investigation continues.

The GGPD was dispatched at 12:10 a.m. Feb. 26 to the traffic accident on Knott Street at Stanford Avenue. The calling party reported the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and was occupied.

GGPD officers and members of the Garden Grove Fire Department arrived at the scene and found a vehicle off the roadway between two trees on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Fire department personnel extinguished the flames. Inside the vehicle, they found the remains of a single deceased individual.

Members of Garden Grove’s Neighborhood Traffic Unit responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.
