Video: Garden Grove PD gets a GRIP by honoring students with holiday meal

The cameras of Garden Grove TV3 were rolling when Garden Grove PD officials helped present 20 students at Alamitos Intermediate School with Thanksgiving dinners to mark their successful participation in the GRIP program.

Run by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, the Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership has more than 200 partner organizations in 13 cities, including police and probation departments and more than 100 private businesses and nonprofit organizations.

The 20 students at Alamitos Intermediate received the Thanksgiving dinners for regularly showing up to class, improving their grades and staying out of trouble. Saddleback Church and several other local sponsors helped make the dinner incentive program possible.
