She hid in a bedroom after she heard a person break into her home.

Terrified, the 22-year-old Garden Grove resident called 911, the sounds of the intruder rummaging around her bathroom sending her adrenaline into overdrive.

This scary scene played out Tuesday, Aug. 23, just after 10 a.m. at a home in the 10000 block of Ballast Avenue in Garden Grove.

Officer Josh Escobedo responded and located a white male exiting the front door of the home.

The man claimed he lived at the home.

The victim told police she had no idea who he was and had never seen him before.

Additional GGPD officers responded and suspect Greg Allen Perrone, 47, was taken into custody.

Perrone appeared to have entered the home from an unlocked rear-yard sliding-glass door, GGPD police say.

No loss of property was determined, police say, although items had been moved around inside the home.

Perrone faces charges of residential burglary and is being held at Orange County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.

He is due to make a court appearance Thursday, Aug. 25.
