A man has been arrested for shooting a Taco Bell employee in Anaheim after confronting him about a possible gang affiliation.

Fabian Joel Lopez, 27, of Huntington Beach has been booked at Orange County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail for attempted murder with gang enhancements, according to a news release issued Thursday by the Anaheim PD.

The 22-year-old victim does not have gang ties and suffered non-life threatening injuries, the news release said.

The shooting happened just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16 in the parking lot of a Taco Bell in the 1600 block of W. Katella Avenue.

Lopez shot the victim, who was arriving at work to begin his shift, once in the torso, the news release said.

Late Wednesday night, personnel from the Anaheim Police Department Gang Detail and Crime Task Force arrested Lopez without incident during the service of a search warrant at a residence in Huntington Beach.
