A group of talented youngsters performed a variety of Motown classics at the annual “Memorable Magical Motown Experience,” a fundraiser for the Orange County Family Justice Center (OCFJC), a multi-agency nonprofit that provides a variety of services to Orange County victims of domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse and sexual assaults.

Members of the OCFJC Youth Dance Program, along with students from La Serna High School of Whittier, performed dozens of songs in front of a cheering crowd at Pearson Park Amphitheatre in Anaheim on Saturday, July 21.

Lisa Kazakos, volunteer director of the dance program and wife of retired Anaheim PD Lt. James Kazakos, organized the show. Kazakos is the former president of the OCFJC Foundation.

Tickets to the Motown performance were $10 and proceeds went to support the “Kids Creating Change program” at the OCFJC.

The Anaheim PD founded the OCFJC in 2006 to provide resources to victims of domestic violence.

Today, the OCFJC is a collaboration of 17 agencies and nonprofits that seeks, in a single setting, to break the cycle of domestic violence for families throughout Orange County.

Among the educational programs offered at the center are classes on positive parenting, self-esteem, conflict resolution, life skills and healthy relationships.
