Part of Bakersfield Department’s recruitment process includes a Physical Agility Test that must be passed by all aspiring police officers before moving onto the next stage of recruitment. From running a 500-meter, jumping a chain-link fence and carrying a 165-pound dummy, new recruits must show their capability of meeting the physical demands of law enforcement. Behind the Badge had a chance to check out the new training course at Yokuts Park, which recruits can use to train for the Department’s agility test.
